Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes live text of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have that deficit and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't always sending more than four defenders but they could position two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and using different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

If you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the defence to be in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. He can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this path.

They excel at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
