English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
