The Red Bull team has revealed a major reshuffle for the 2026 F1 campaign, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its senior team and handing 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his first Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, will be the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls.

This reshuffling results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat following a five-year stint.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

The youngster was marked out as a potential future star by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Regarding the team's junior academy, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", highlighting his "natural quickness".

Red Bull has been working since last year to prepare Lindblad for his potential Grand Prix bow in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at Silverstone and Mexico City.

The rookie said it was a "dream come true", adding: "Next season represents a massive test, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to work closely with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started."

He has won two races in F2 this year and is sixth in the championship ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Hadjar's Big Break

The Frenchman's debut season started on a low note when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. But, since then, he has been one of the most impressive newcomers this season.

His performances featured an outstanding top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the championship.

The team principal commented: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and demonstrated to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."

Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "ready".

Tsunoda's Exit

For the seat at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda.

Lawson began the season with the main team but was demoted early in the year. He has settled back in at Racing Bulls with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he merits more time.

The Japanese driver, in contrast, loses his place after a difficult season. His best result is a sixth place, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship.

The driver market moves confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
