Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
