No league markets parity as effectively as the NFL: it defines their identity. But through 10 weeks of this season, this is not a competition that is equally balanced among elite teams, poor performers, and average squads. It’s one where most of the league is simply sufficient.

NFC Clarity

Looking at the NFC side, at least, there is some clarity. The Rams along with the Seahawks (each holding 7-2 records) look like the most well-rounded squads across the league, and achieved decisive victories during Sunday's action. The 6-2 Eagles despite their struggles maintain among the most gifted lineups throughout football, likewise with the Packers (5-2-1 record). The Lions also (6-3 standing), who have been inconsistent on offense and defense while managing internal staff conflicts, have shown they can defeat quality opponents. AFC Playoff Chaos

Over in the AFC, championship race remains completely chaotic. The current division frontrunners through ten weeks: Indianapolis, New England, Denver (all standing at eight wins) and Steelers (5-4 record). Take another look. No Chiefs presence. Buffalo is missing. Not the Ravens or Bengals. The usual contenders, backed by the league’s best quarterbacks, have either obvious team deficiencies or have been hit by injuries.
