Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his family.
