England's Coach Southee Uncertain on The Ashes Participation

England's fast-bowling advisor Southee is currently evaluating the extent of his role will be at the upcoming Ashes contest in Australia.
The ex- New Zealand pace bowler is only likely to be present for the first Test because of his participation in the ILT20 tournament, which begins on December 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
Southee, aged 36, took up a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the warmer months after taking 391 scalps in 107 Test matches for New Zealand.
Commenting as England's team for the first of three Twenty20 games against New Zealand was named, he stated of his availability: "We're still working through that at the present time.
"We'll see what happens over the next little while."
English pace icon Broad had declared the Australian side as their "weakest squad since 2010", but the consultant was in no uncertainty over the anticipated challenge during the contest, which starts on 21 November.
"I don't think there's at any time a poor Australian cricket team," he remarked.
"Our focus is firmly on what we're trying to do. In my opinion the quality of [the English] side that's going out to Australia is brilliant.
"It should be an absolute cracker, that series. Not only [are|do] fans from both nations eagerly anticipate it, I think the whole cricket world is."
However, prior to the English team travel to Perth for the first Ashes match, they face New Zealand in the city of Christchurch on Saturday.
