What can you improve a stellar experienced squad that have claimed consecutive championships, including a league-cup double with thirty wins from thirty-two matches?

Bring in a collection of ex- pro players who have competed at the top level of club football and international football as you target additional silverware.

A Manchester team has an amateur vets team with nine former Premier League players in their current lineup.

Two Hundred Twenty-Two Premier League Goals, 325 International Appearances

Wythenshawe Vets Over 35s are situated in southern Manchester and compete in the Cheshire Vets League Premier Division.

Their lineup this season includes nine ex- Premier League footballers, with a total nearly 1,800 Premier League appearances.

The star-studded roster also contains 222 top division scores and over 320 global caps.

They feature Papiss Cisse, who scored 37 goals in 117 appearances for Newcastle United after signing for them for nine million pounds from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg in January 2012.

Cisse had his first appearance for the team in their last home game versus defending champions Collegiate Old Boys and netted all six goals in a 6-2 win - including a 32-minute first-half hat-trick.

The team for this campaign also includes ex- pros such as England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey, Hull and Burnley FC winger George Boyd, Everton forward Oumar Niasse, Wigan Athletic defender Maynor Figueroa, City duo Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha and top-flight championship winners Joleon Lescott and Danny Drinkwater.

In total, the ex- top-flight footballers have secured 15 significant honors and transferred for total transfer fees of approximately £123 million.

Well-Known Figures and Global Players

Ireland started playing for the team in pre-season this season through good friend and present Wythenshawe player Blake Norton, and the ex- Irish player then asked additional ex-pros, who all play in a weekly small-sided match, to participate.

Ex- Senegalese striker Niasse, who netted twelve scores in sixty-five top-flight matches for Everton and even now goes to their matches at Goodison Park, also had his first appearance against Collegiate OB - who are based in Liverpool and use an Blue warm-up gear as their uniform.

"A friend Stephen told me 'join and play, it's a laugh'," commented the striker.

"After that he informed me we were facing a side from Liverpool and the surprise I had when I noticed them sporting Everton shirts - I say this is strange for me!

"Those spectators who turn up and see are happy and to make someone's day if they watch us playing there and to ask us queries - it's more like the pleasure of us getting somewhere we can enjoy football, with organisation of course."

So great is the squad depth at Wythenshawe, he had his first game at full-back.

"That's a little different but then, I enjoy running and just move forward - I'm not staying back that much," he said.

"I tell my centre-back 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"That movement is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

Dreamlike' Experience

In addition to Cisse's 6 scores on his first game, Ireland has netted 8 in 3 appearances for the side, while Boyd scored 5 on his debut appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, notched a hat-trick in one match as a striker.

Wythenshawe are top of the Top Tier with three wins from 3 and a GD of plus nineteen.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who plays on the wing for Collegiate OB, came up against ex- Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.

Figueroa has appeared at two global tournaments for Honduras, in addition to playing in over two hundred Premier League games.

"It was going round like a rumor they had all these former top-flight stars," said Barrow.

"I felt I was a little starstruck facing Figueroa to be honest.

"Even Heskey came on and he's got over 60 England caps.

"We competed well for a good 20 mins but then we had a man sent off and it was tough.

"Our group really haven't stopped talking about it - I was phoning my mum and sibling on the journey home.

"The opponents were all dead sound, shaking our hands after the game - it was like playing a bunch of regular fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the second match."

'We'll Still Win the Title'

Andy Kirby manages the Collegiate veterans team, who won the Top Tier championship last season, together with Paul Maguire.

"Our team went one-nil ahead and had a
