The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the full worth of seized Russia's holdings to bolster the Ukrainian defense operations, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Russia to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in close cooperation with the America.

UK sanctions have blocked more than £25bn of Russian assets since the Russian government initiated its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds provided to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been sourced from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russian sovereign funds to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on Moscow.

This announcement is subsequent to European Union officials met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or utilize frozen Russia's holdings, as reported by news outlets.

The value of immobilized Russian assets in the EU is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Leader Zelensky urges UK's Sir Keir Starmer to take part in the weapons procurement program

Russia carried out widespread missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on recently, leading to power cuts in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were fatally injured and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the attack, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a update on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault targeted public and utility structures.

"What's needed is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, the European Union, and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote.

While praising the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would participate in the program, as well as apply additional measures on the Russian Federation.
